The Battle at Guilford Courthouse pitted the forces of Nathanael Greene and the Earl Lord Cornwallis against each other in a conflict that Lawrence Babits and Josh Howard pointed out was "long, obstinate and bloody". Using Daniel Morgan's battle plan from Cowpens, Greene deployed his troops in three lines, with militia forces at lines 1 and 2, and his Continentals in the 3rd line. In the battle reenactment below, the action takes place at the 3rd line, after the militia had retreated through the woods with the British in hot pursuit. The original battle occurred within sight of the original Guilford Courthouse.
